Star Air Cargo Pty Ltd has been trading since 1996. Originally SAC operated smaller aircraft, flying courier freight and small cargo for DHL and other companies contracted to fly for Fedex. Over the years we started to fly passenger flights, and in so doing we saw the opportunity and need for an outsourcing solution for airlines in the region. We took the decision to move out of the smaller aircraft and to begin operating the Boeing 737-200. We started with our first 737 aircraft in 2007. Our current fleet comprises of four 737-200’s and one 737-500.
SAC has begun negotiating with aircraft leasing companies to lease in the newer generation 737-300 and 737-500 aircraft, which will begin to replace the 737-200’s over the next two year period.
SAC will continue to market and work at maintaining and gaining market share in the regional airline industry. Since the inception of the Boeing 737 operation in January 2007 we have operated for:
